ID required to get a Post Office Box

POM 841.122

  Application for post office box may not be approved until the applicant’s identity and local current permanent physical address is verified!

Two items of valid I.D.; one must contain a photo.

Acceptable I.D.:

  1. Valid drivers’ license or state I.D.
  2. Armed forces, government, university, or recognized corporate I.D. card.
  3. Passport, alien registration card, or certificate of naturalization.
  4. Current lease, mortgage, or deed of trust.
  5. Voter or vehicle registration card.
  6. Home or vehicle insurance policy.
  7. I.D. presented must be current. Social Security cards or credit cards and birth certificate are unacceptable as I.D.
